The Business Case for Diversity

AHA is a signatory of the IP Inclusive Charter for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and we are committed to improving equality and diversity within our profession. Our Trainee Patent Attorney, Michael Ford, recently wrote a guest blog post outlining the business case for diversity. The article, published on IP Inclusive, explores the moral and economic case for a diverse workforce. Not only will workplaces with diverse teams have greater creativity and problem-solving capabilities, retention rates will also improve. And research shows that overall company diversity leads to economic gains.

Michael is currently in training to become a UK and European patent attorney. Michael has an MEng and a DPhil in Materials Science from the University of Oxford. After completing his doctoral studies, Michael carried out research at the Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany.
