We are delighted that Douglas Purdie has recently joined us. Douglas previously worked as a patent examiner at the European Patent Office in Munich for almost twenty years. Prior to this he spent seven years as a research physicist in Switzerland, firstly at the IBM labs in Zurich and then at the University of Neuchâtel. He has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Manchester (in collaboration with the University of Liverpool) and a BSc in Physics from the University of Edinburgh.

Director Robert Gregory comments: “Douglas’ extensive experience as a patent examiner adds an extra dimension to our skillset. At these times of change it is also important to us that we remain a truly European firm, open for business in not just the UK but also the EU, and Douglas’ background fits with that ethos.”
