United Kingdom withdraws from Unified Patent Court Agreement

The United Kingdom has today formally withdrawn from the Unified Patent Court Agreement (UPCA). This is frustrating as the UK had originally been one of the driving forces behind the UPCA, but it was probably inevitable given Brexit and was flagged earlier this year. The UPCA faces ongoing legal difficulties in the German Courts and whether and when it will come into force for other EU countries remains unclear.
