Fiona has an academic and professional background in languages and translation, having obtained an undergraduate degree in Russian and Slavonic Studies from the University of Glasgow and a postgraduate degree in Applied Translation Studies from the University of Leeds. She began her career in the translation industry as a project manager, where she was responsible for the delivery of multilingual website translation and localisation projects. Fiona has also spent time in Moscow, where she worked as a translator and editor, and taught English for business to clients in Russian and multinational companies.
Fiona joined the legal sector in 2016 as an administrative team leader at a leading Scottish law firm. She joined Hindles the following year to progress her career within the field of intellectual property.
Fiona works closely with the attorney team and wider firm, providing support to clients on the management of their intellectual property portfolios, including drafting trade mark specifications, preparing and filing trade mark applications, drafting and filing responses to examination reports and other official correspondence, correspondence with attorney associates and intellectual property offices, and other aspects of client care. She is also involved in the coordination of trade mark and design renewals.
